Make It Count Monday - Vol 6.

A link-up of Goals and Accomplishments!

Evaluation from last week: Quality time was a tough one this past week! My husband and I had so much going on that we only got to sit down twice for some real one-on-one time. But I did succeed in finishing the party prep and costume making...along with a WHOLE  bunch of other stuff that serves as this week's motivation!

~MOTIVATION~
What did I accomplish last week?
I packed more into this week than I think I have in a long, long time. So much, in fact, that I wasn't sure if I was going to get it all done. But I did...I wrote my final guest post over at Ms.MommyHH6, (which will be published later today), planned and pulled off a party, sewed a costume by hand, got together with friends and family nearly every day, went to three birthday celebrations in one weekend, made it through the emotional roller coaster of my son turning one (I never would've believed that a birthday could make me so happy and sad at the same time until I became a mom!) and I still came out on the other side of this week alive. It was truly a "victory in inches" type of week!

~DIRECTION~
What's my goal for this week?
Two words: Potty training. Our three-year-old free spirit has finally taken to the idea of using the loo, so I'll do my best to take full advantage of that! Goal number two is to actually enjoy Halloween with my kids this year instead of stressing about all the little stuff I usually do--I'd like to just let the kids be kids and allow myself to join in on their excitement. I'm also going to keep working on that quality time (especially since my husband and I get to celebrate five years of wedded bliss this weekend!) and also work on cleaning our room. I've single-handedly destroyed it in the past week...really, it looks like Hurricane Sandy took a detour through my closet.

~ACCOUNTABILITY~
What steps will I take to move toward that goal?
I set appointments on my calendar for the potty training. You would think that it wouldn't come to that, but I realized last week that while I'm good at remembering for a few minutes, after an hour or two of other distractions I tend to forget that we've ditched the diapers, which gets messy! So I've set reminders for myself to remind my son to go potty. Oh, motherhood. Hopefully just setting the goal of enjoying Halloween with the kids will help me do so--we'll see how my stress level fares when it comes time to run door-to-door. I also set calendar reminders for quality time; as for my room, tripping over five pairs of shoes on the way to my side of the bed will hopefully be enough of a reminder to kick me in to gear!

  3. I stumbled upon your blog after visiting Megan at Ordinarily Obsessed. Oh my gosh that was one busy week you had! Hopefully you get as much done this week (or at least make some headway on the potty training!) I don't know what I'd do some days if I didn't put reminders in my phone--I can barely remember what I had for lunch today much less what plans I've committed to tomorrow!

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Jordan! Reminders are a lifesaver, aren't they? Except for the times I forget to set them ;)
