~MOTIVATION~
What did I accomplish last week?
As I said, I did a good job with exercise and giving thanks. I also made some Thanksgiving pies, including my mom's award-winning chocolate chip pecan pie, and made homemade mashed potatoes for the first time--about eight pounds worth! And to top it all off, I thoroughly enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at our in-laws, meeting a distant cousin of theirs for the first time who just moved to the area. They have a delightful little girl who became fast friends with our little lady, and I got to practice my sign language since both parents are hard of hearing. It was a delightful time, and we can't wait to get together again soon! We also pulled out the Christmas decorations and got the tree decorated in record time because of two very eager kiddos!
~DIRECTION~
What's my goal for this week?
A two-part goal this week: the first is to get Christmas cards done; the second is to not get caught up in the stress of the Christmas season, and instead remember what Christmas is really about as I check all my "requirements" off of my list!
~ACCOUNTABILITY~
What steps will I take to move toward that goal?
It always seems that my intent to get Christmas cards done on time (i.e. before Valentines Day) is greater than my ability to do so. So I'm making it my goal to write and address them this week--and the fact that I've already ordered the pictures means I'm one step closer! As for avoiding stress, I think that checking this one block early on will save me both massive amounts of stress and give me more time to focus on the blessings of the Christmas season!
NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!

I'm impressed you've begun your Christmas cards. . . so much so that you have inspired my Make it Count Monday to start mine. . .ie - force Miles and Finn (and Roscoe) to take some pictures tonight before Miles leaves for the field and hopefully one will be cute enough to work for the Christmas card.
ReplyDeleteWhat will hold me accountable is a short timeline - Miles leaves tomorrow! If I wait until he gets back then I'm also pushing back how long it takes to get them printed. Oh, and if I snag a cute pic today I may be able to score a Cyber Monday deal on prints/cards!
Thanks for the motivation Meg!
Sweet! Hope you get a good one!!!
DeleteThe ONLY reason I'm getting mine done so early is that I pulled a cop-out move and used our Thanksgiving picture. But I'm okay with that--like you said, it means forcing a husband and three children to sit still, keep their hands out of their mouths, look at the camera, remind them to smile, setting dinosaurs up next to the camera and making the weirdest noises possible...for some reason doing that over and over makes them grumpy. ;)
So the fact that we have one picture that's not more than six months old where all of us are looking at the camera AND smiling (albeit cheesily) is a miracle!
That is so wonderful that you got all that great exercise in! I made the same goal for the week... and managed to do 10 whole sit ups :) Good job with the Christmas cards! I tried to get some put together, and then decided the picture didn't look formal enough! Ha! There is always this week!
